A portrait and excerpt of an interview with the subject for Los Americanx I started this project several years back, before COVID and thought it was time to get it back on track. I photograph Latinos and Latinas discussing how they grapple with Americanness, often discussing how they come to terms with their own identity and how they contribute to the American ethos. The subject completed a dual-Ph.D. from 2 Ivy League universities focusing on developing heart patches that will save lives. Her's is a story you don't hear about in the political discourse but it's people like her who are contributing to a better America.
